'88 Savage 15K miles.
When bike gets warm, operating temperature, I hear a taping coming from the top of the engine.
Is this an indication of that the valves need adjusting? My guess is yes.

Would thicker oil help, for now, until I get my Clymer book.

Also, what is that solenoid thing that connects to a cable on the top of the Engine?
